Investor-owned utility PPL Corporation has announced that it will be expanding its transmission network and service territory in a greener, more sustainable way.   The Pennsylvania-based PPL announced Monday it has acquired an ownership interest in the SOO Green project, a 350-mile underground high-voltage, direct current transmission line designed to connect the Midcontinent Independent System Operator (MISO) and PJM regional energy markets and bring 2,100 megawatts of renewable energy from the upper Midwest to eastern U.S. markets.  […]
